Peter Edward Weske, 66
Peter Edward Weske, 66, of Sweetgrass, Mont., and formerly of Kingston, Idaho, passed away Jan. 2, 2025, in Kingston, Idaho. Peter was born Aug. 7, 1958, in Moose Lake, Minn., the youngest of four children born to Floyd and Elizabeth (Losensky) Weske.
Peter graduated from Moose Lake High School. While in high school, he also worked with his father at Weske Timber. Peter worked and partnered with Weske Timber until he moved his family to Kingston, Idaho, in 2001. Peter married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Lampel, on Dec. 30, 1977. Peter and Brenda were married for 43 years, having 10 children they dearly loved. When Peter quit the logging industry, he moved his family to Idaho. He worked for Interstate Asphalt, Peak Adventures and Kootenai County's road crew from which he retired. Brenda sadly passed away in 2021. Peter met and married Maggie Nutter in 2022 and moved to Sweetgrass, Mont., once he retired from Kootenai County.
Peter was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, riding horses, tending to the cows on his property and sitting around a roaring campfire with his family. He also had an interest in firearms and ammunition.
Peter is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Weske, and his first wife, Brenda Weske.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie Nutter, of Sweetgrass, Mont.; 10 children, Cindy (Kelley) Larsen of Osburn, Idaho; Amanda (John) Manty of Cataldo, Idaho; Emily Weske of Boise, Idaho; Adam Weske of Clark Fork, Idaho; Erik Weske of Kingston, Idaho; Ben Weske, Kingston, Idaho; Donna (William) Curl of Osburn, Idaho; Dakota (Kaitlyn) Weske of Smelterville, Idaho; Lily (Robby) Delima of Oxnard, Calif.; and Sophia (Jacob) Relford of Camden, Mich.; three sisters, Julie Weske of Australia, Susan Berg of Brooklyn Center, Minn., and Paula Berg of Minneapolis, Minn.; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Peter was held Sunday, Jan. 5, at The Worship Center in Smelterville, Idaho, and a celebration of his life will be held later this spring.
