Skip spent a significant part of his life as a skilled mechanic, where he spent countless hours in the shop, not only honing his craft, but also enjoying the camaraderie of friends as they worked together on their vehicles. A proud veteran, Skip served in the United States Marine Corps in Germany and later transitioned to the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he developed a deep sense of pride for his service. Those who knew him held dear the fond memories made while boating on the lake, fishing and trying to beat him on the golf course. He enjoyed motorcycles and hot rods, having restored several throughout the years. He also cherished the moments spent traveling, target shooting and riding with his friends.
