BONNER COUNTY — The man accused of causing the November crash on US95 that killed five-year-old Amelia Carollo has been granted house arrest.
61-year-old Rick Gross faces charges of aggravated reckless driving, vehicular manslaughter, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gross was granted house arrest during Thursday's motion hearing after defense attorney Craig Zanetti argued his client required family care at home, as he is a wheelchair-bound veteran with a traumatic brain injury.
The judge agreed that Gross is to be monitored at home, limiting his movement to court appearances and medical appointments.
Gross's bond was also reduced from $500,000 to $250,000.
