Dorothy Gene Vermillion Judd, 91

| January 3, 2025 1:00 AM

Dorothy loved to have fun — bowling, Bunko, Bingo and casinos. She loved to have and go to parties. She was my mother and best friend. We laughed a lot when we were together. We would get so silly that my dad would roll his eyes and shake his head. We did not care one bit.

My mom was one of seven children. She was born and grew up in Keokuk, Iowa. She happily moved to California and met my dad, Wally Judd. They married six months after they met and were married for 62 years. I am the oldest of three, followed by Lynn, who lives in Reno with her husband, and Kris, who lives in Coeur d’Alene.

I moved to Utah in October 2022, and my mom was not happy about it. My daughter-in-law asked my husband, Kyle, and me to move to be near her and the grandkids. We enjoyed it, but I missed my mom. My Aunt Trudy was living with my mom, and so I moved them both down to Utah to be near me and my grandson.

My mom had a lung condition that wore her out. She got better, but then not so much, and then she got better again. Well, on Christmas Day, she was very weak and had trouble catching her breath. We went to the emergency room, and they got a bed for her to try to help. I guess she was just so tired of being sick and tired. I was with her this morning as she passed on to go to heaven. I will not be sad for her; she is with Jesus and her loved ones. I will miss her every day. I still can’t believe she is not here anymore. Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with such a wonderful mother and the very best partner in crime.

Love, Carole

P.S. For all of you who came to her 90th birthday party in September 2023, thank you! This was a living memorial for Dorothy, who did not want to miss a party. There will be no service or flowers or tears, just happy memories. Thank you.
