Special Olympics plunge on Feb. 8

| January 2, 2025 1:06 AM

A Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Idaho is scheduled Feb. 8 at Red Lion Hotel Templin's on the River in Post Falls.

Businesses and entrepreneurs are encouraged to form teams and take a dip in the Spokane River.

"Whether you’re ready to take the plunge or prefer to support from the sidelines, your participation will make a difference," a press release said. "If jumping into the icy waters isn’t your thing, consider making a donation directly to the Polar Plunge. Every contribution counts and helps support the athletes of Special Olympics Idaho."

The plunge is scheduled for noon.

All participants must raise a minimum of $100. Prizes will be awarded.

The event is hosted by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, which provides divers to watch after participants.
