Kids watch balloons drop at the Hayden 'Noon Year's Eve' celebration

HAYDEN  — For the little ones too young to make it to the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, Hayden Library had an alternative Monday.

Instead of a ball drop, balloons were used to build up anticipation for the turning of the clock from 11:59 a.m. to noon.

The "Noon Year's Eve" party was bolstered by the exuberance of children and families and they counted down and practiced ushering in the new year.

Library staff Kathy Kliewer, Bethany Sandberg, Kelsey Mack and Katie Keller brought the party to the Hayden Library Monday as they celebrated the new year a day early with local families.
