LETTER RESPONSE: Let God be the final account

| February 28, 2025 1:00 AM

Carol Shemanski asks who has decided that they know better about your body than you and your doctors? Who is dictating what you and your children can or cannot read? Who has determined who you can love? Who says who you can be as an individual and that you only have two choices?

The answer to all of your questions is GOD, our divine being who created us in His image. God knows about our bodies when he commands “Do Not Kill” (abortion). God dictates what our children should read (morality). God determines who you can love and that you have only two choices (between a man and a woman).

The phrase “One Nation Under God” was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to distinguish the United States from the atheistic stance of communist countries. Additionally, “In God We Trust” was established as the U.S. official motto on July 20, 1956, by Congress. On June 14, Flag Day, Eisenhower signed a law adding “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance.

The MAGA Party has not divided the people or this country. If anything, it has brought the majority of the people closer. Trump’s majority vote clearly supports that. Yes, we do need to stop the “you verses us” mentality.

The phrase “Judge not, that ye be not judged” from Matthew 7:1 encourages individuals to focus on their own faults and to treat others with mercy and love, rather than harsh judgment. Live and let live and let God be the final account of our actions.
