Agnes 'Aggi' B. Draben, 78
Agnes “Aggi” Beatrice Draben of Hayden, Idaho passed away Jan. 28, 2025, after battling heart disease for many years. Aggi was born Aug. 13, 1946, in Patterson, Idaho, to James and Mabel (Ellis) Ivie. She was the seventh of 12 children. Aggi grew up in Kellogg, Idaho, and realized a talent for making people feel beautiful. She graduated from C&C Beauty School in Kellogg, resulting in Aggi owning three of her own salons in the Coeur d’Alene/Hayden area. Aggi also worked for Wellsprings Adult Family Home, where she was a great asset and was loved by the residents.
Aggi married Richard Draben on July 2, 1965, and they had two children: daughter Mary and son Ritch. Her family was the love of her life, and she showed it every day. Aggi’s interests included bowling, pool, card games of all kinds and camping on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River. She was very active in the Altar Church, participating in many of the activities and programs there. She loved people and serving others, especially those dealing with life’s challenges. Those who knew Aggi knew her to be a selfless individual with strong faith. She will be greatly missed.
Aggi is survived by her daughter, Mary of Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren: Jared (Dani) of Eugene, Ore., and their children, Jamie and Clay; Molly (Ryan) of Yakima, Wash.; and Dane (Scierra) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and their children, Maxx and Daxton; siblings: sister, Francis Glisson, brothers Wendell Ivie and Marvin Ivie, sister Christine Nesbitt, brother Curtis Finke; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Aggi is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mabel; husband Richard “Dick”; son Ritch; siblings: Velda Card, Kenneth Ivie, Helen Kurtz, Leonard Ivie, Leo Ivie and Boyd Ivie.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Aggi’s favorite cause in her name: Good Samaritan Rehabilitation, c/o Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815. It is a faith-based alcohol and drug rehabilitation program.
