Suspect in Post Falls murder investigation surrenders to law enforcement
POST FALLS — The suspect in a murder investigation in Post Falls, Jason M. Rook, was arrested Wednesday evening near the 3400 block of West Seltice Way in Coeur d’Alene.
According to a news release from Post Falls Police, Rook surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.
Post Falls Police was supported by the regional SWAT team made up of law enforcement officers from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police Department, as well as the U.S. Marshals and members of the Coeur d’Alene C.A.T.
Police began looking for Rook on Sunday after a 46-year-old was found dead with gunshot wounds at a home on Dorado Avenue in Post Falls.
A caller who was not present at the residence stated they believed their boyfriend had been shot after seeing the suspect on a home camera system.
A nationwide extradition for first-degree murder and burglary was obtained by police.
