| February 26, 2025 1:00 AM

On Feb. 6, 2025, Sue Nordstrom left us to be with her three sisters and brother in Heaven. Sue passed away peacefully at her home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 77 from heart failure, with her husband and daughter by her side, under the care of Eden Hospice.

Susan Florence (Plummer) Nordstrom was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Montclair, N.J. She is one of nine children and is preceded in death by her parents, Marian and Arthur Plummer, and siblings Judy Silver, Richard Plummer, Barbara Lane and Betsy McKeon.

Sue was a hairdresser in Jersey, rode motorcycles, loved water skiing and had her two children, Matthew McComb in 1970 and Marian McComb in 1971. Sue and her children lived in Fresno, Calif., prior to moving to Hayden Lake, Idaho, in 1975. Sue opened a beauty salon called He and She Hair Studio in Dalton Gardens. She played softball and was in a bowling league. Her sister, Candy, introduced her to the No. 1 North Idaho Logger and Heavy Equipment Operator, Norm Nordstrom, at the Cotton Club in Hayden around Oct. 1978 — three months later, they were married Jan 27, 1979. Sue, Matt and Marian moved into Norm’s Lake cabin in Bayview on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. Norm and Sue remained in Bayview for the next 34 years.

Sue sold her beauty salon around 1987, and they bought a restaurant, M & M’s Burger Bar in Bayview, it was a huge success for about nine years. Around 1993, they sold the Burger Bar and bought the Captain’s Wheel in Bayview, which lasted until around 2000.

Sue was a self-taught artist who loved to paint anything Mickey Mouse and later collected gnomes. She enjoyed sitting on her deck in Bayview overlooking Lake Pend Oreille, swimming and watching the Unpredictable catch fish. She especially loved Bayview’s Fourth of July fireworks, played cards and mahjong, enjoyed her beautiful flower garden and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Sue loved her family and is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Norm Nordstrom of 47 years; son Matt McComb (Anna); daughter Marian McComb (Steve Krakenberg), stepson Chip McKelvey (Maureen); grandchildren Zachary Russell, Jourdan McFarland, Tina Holtz Rhodin (Sebastian), Mercedes McComb, Sean McComb (Alicia), Cecelia Krakenberg, and two great-grandchildren, siblings Arthur "Punky" Plummer, Robert "Bobby" Plummer, Candy Larson, Chris "Buzzy" Plummer and many dear nieces and nephews from the coast of California to the Jersey shore.

The family would like to thank Eden Hospice for their care and support and especially our neighbors, the Anderson Family. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family encourages you to plant a flower in your garden in memory of Sue. English Funeral Chapel is entrusted with the care of arrangements. The family invites you to visit our photo gallery at www.englishfuneralchapel.com and share memories, thoughts or pictures here.
