Curtis Neal Yung, 67

| February 26, 2025 1:00 AM

Curtis Neal Yung, 67, of Post Falls, Idaho, was born and raised in Kimball, Neb. On the farm, he learned to fix equipment, grow crops, raise pigs and cattle, and many other helpful things. Most importantly, he developed a faith in God that would steer his life and anchor him to something greater.

After high school, he met and married his wife of 47 years, Jeanie. They settled down in Post Falls, Idaho, and raised four kids. Curt became a fixture of the community and carried on his passion for farming by working for most of his professional life for Cenex Harvest States. In 2008, he contracted cancer and his ability to maintain a full-time position was compromised.

Despite many arduous struggles, both mental and physical, Curt would continue to keep his eye on a heavenly goal. In the last few days, Curt was not aware that his time on Earth was coming to an end so quickly. His last conversations were with his grandkids, encouraging them to have a good day at school; he shortly after would become non-responsive.

He was a good husband and father and an even better grandpa. Curt is survived by his spouse, Jeanie Yung; their four children, Kara, Kirstin, Kelsay and Kendal (Rachel); and four grandchildren: August, Louie, Josie and Howie. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the Kootenai CCU team for their heroic efforts and compassionate care.

A viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. His memorial service is at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Continuous Curriculum School (CCS), 16924 E. Wellesley Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
