COEUR d’ALENE — It’s been something Lakeside has been shooting for all season.

On Tuesday night, junior Kyleigh Wolfe’s range was what got the Knights back to state for the first time since 2023.

Wolfe, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark, shot 14 of 19 for the top-seeded Knights, who beat the third-seeded Wallace Miners 63-45 in the 2A District 1 championship game at North Idaho College’s Christianson Gymnasium, advancing to state starting next Thursday at Columbia High in Nampa.

Wolfe, who now has 1,003 points in three years, had 24 in the first half for Lakeside (13-7).

“She’s doing what she’s done all year long,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. “She was getting out in transition and made some big 3-pointers. She had a good game for us and definitely led us.”

Lakeside lost in a state play-in game last year.

“It’s been one of our team goals all season long,” Dohrman said. “It’s a great thing to accomplish and now we’re getting to state and trying to perform well. The girls played really well tonight and we’ll see what we can do at state.”

Sophomore Khepri Wood scored 21 points for Wallace, which finished 11-10.

SPIRIT LAKE — The visiting Lumberjacks outscored the Tigers 10-2 in the extra period to capture the nonleague win at Timberlake High.

“The second chance shots killed us in overtime,” said Timberlake coach Mike LaFountaine, whose team shot 1 for 11 in overtime. “It was a great game. I like how we competed against them, but they were able to pull it out in the end. We can’t give up second chance rebounds. St. Maries is a good team and we competed right with them. We just need to close out games a little better.”

Junior JJ Yearout scored 24 points for St. Maries (9-9), which travels to Grangeville on Friday.

Senior Tyler Engelson scored 26 points for Timberlake (8-8), which hosts Lakeside tonight at 5:30.
