Lee Hellesvig, 70
Lee Robert Hellesvig, 70, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2025. Born on April 6, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Roy and Joan Hellesvig, Lee lived a life filled with music, family and unwavering dedication. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Lee’s early life in Minneapolis instilled in him a strong work ethic and a passion for community. He proudly served as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for nearly 40 years, a testament to his commitment and reliability.
Lee’s multifaceted talents shone brightly throughout his life. A gifted musician, he played a remarkable array of instruments, including the trumpet, drums, guitar, and banjo. His musical journey extended to leading the Praise Band at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church for over 10 years, sharing his talents and faith with the congregation. His creativity extended to songwriting and composing his own music. Beyond music, Lee was a passionate dancer and an enthusiastic actor, delighting audiences at the Sherwood Forest Faire in Texas. A dedicated fan of professional wrestling, he loved traveling the country to attend WrestleMania.
Lee's dedication extended most profoundly to his family. He was a devoted father to Isaac Hellesvig, Jessica LaPresta, Emma Hellesvig and Hailey Hellesvig and a cherished grandfather to Vincent, Patricia and Maelianna. He was actively involved in his children's and grandchildren's lives, never missing any significant event. His involvement in 4-H as a youth further cemented his commitment to community and nurturing future generations.
Lee’s warm personality, infectious enthusiasm and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life for Lee will be held Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at noon at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St. Coeur d'Alene. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
