PREP WRESTLING: Lakeland, Post Falls boys tie for first, Sandpoint girls win at Conrad Garner Invitational

BONNERS FERRY — Carson Leonard (120 pounds) and Jaren Knopp (126) claimed individual titles for Lakeland, which tied with Post Falls for the boys team title at the Conrad Garner Invitational on Saturday at Bonners Ferry High.

Ryker Allen (113), Colton Austin (157), Damion Hamilton (165), Seth Martin (190) and Kendall Sage (215) won titles for Post Falls, which finished with 248.5 points. After the final team standings were updated, Lakeland and Post Falls each had 248.5 points.

Ty Wood (98) and Ashlei Hawkins (132) won titles for Sandpoint, which was third with 200.5.

Priest River's Colm McLaimtaig won at 144 for the Spartans.

In the girls tournament, Summer Birch (114), Hunter Edmondson (120) and Zxyloh Johnson (152) all won their respective weight classes as Sandpoint claimed the team title.

Birch and Johnson won two matches by pin while Edmondson won three matches by pin en route to gold.

Mackenzee Donenfeld (100), Sylvia Becker (165) and Lilli Marti (235) all won two matches by pin and also placed first in their respective round robin's for Sandpoint, which scored 174 total points to capture the title.
