Billie K. Jensen, 96
Billie passed peacefully at home in Spokane Valley, Wash., in the early morning hours of Feb. 3, 2025, at age 96. She died in her own bed of age-related illness, with her family close at hand. She has been living in Spokane Valley with her daughter/caregiver, Ginger, and her family since 2018.
Billie was born July 27, 1928, at Providence Hospital in Seattle, Wash., to her father, Herold William Hollenbeck, and her mother, Kathryn Brackett of Kirkland, Wash. She had a good childhood with a loving family growing up in Western Washington during the Depression. As a young woman, she worked at Weyerhaeuser in Longview, Wash., where she met James H. Jensen. They were married in 1952 and had three children. James served in the Navy and Coast Guard and worked for the Fluor Corporation, which allowed them to travel the world from Hawaii to Venezuela and Iran, as well as many other states and countries. Billie loved to travel, shop abroad, and care for the family as they followed Jim around the world. Billie was a great listener and a wonderful wife and mother.
Billie loved crafting and was an expert at knitting, crocheting and sewing. She often made clothes for her children and loved to make sweaters for her dogs.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, sisters Jean and Gail, and many beloved dogs, such as Twinkie, Hugs and Gordy. She is survived by Dana (Judy), Ginger (Rudy), Debbie (Wayne) and her grandchildren Nathan, Jason, Carl and Madlyn, and great-grandchildren Kyle and Hayden.
