PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lake City gets its spark from starting sisters
COEUR d’ALENE — Seeking a bit of a spark, Timberwolves coach David Pratt turned to his pack of sisters to turn the tides.
On senior night, Pratt went with normal starters — sophomore Macy Murphy and senior Sadie Zimmerman — as well as senior Sammie Chavez.
But Pratt added that the addition of sophomore Madi Zimmerman and Macie Zimmerman that gave the team a little more energy.
“We played a little more team oriented and took better shots,” Pratt said. “The girls played hard and Sadie and her sisters really provided a good spark for us.”
Lake City (8-13, 3-5 IEL) outscored Moscow (9-12, 2-7) 16-8 in the fourth quarter for a 46-38 Inland Empire League win on Saturday.
Sadie Zimmerman had 23 points and six rebounds for Lake City, which faces Post Falls in a 6A District 1 loser-out game on Thursday at Post Falls High.
"It was just a really good team win," Pratt said.
Jacque Williams scored 13 points for Moscow.

PRIEST RIVER — The visiting Bulldogs wrapped up the Central Idaho League title with the win over the Spartans.
Senior Desi Humphrey scored 13 points, senior Lizzie McCracken added nine and senior Paityn Yount had eight rebounds for Priest River (12-6, 4-3 CIL).
Freshman Autumn Long had a game-high 17 points for Grangeville (14-6, 7-0) and junior Addisyn Lefebvre pitched in 12 points and five steals.
Priest River closes out the regular season and league play on Wednesday at Kellogg.

PLUMMER — Junior Kyleigh Wolfe hit three 3-pointers and scored 26 of her game-high 29 points in the first half as the host Knights beat the Wampus Cats in the Scenic Idaho Conference and regular-season finale for both teams at Ron Miller Court.
Freshman Laila Charley added 19 points for Lakeside (10-7, 6-0 SIC).
Senior Hannah Thompson scored 20 points and grabbed eight boards for Clark Fork (5-12, 0-6). Junior Kathi Rupp pulled down 22 rebounds, junior Priscilla Mayorga 10 for Clark Fork.
Top-seeded Lakeside will play host to fourth-seeded Clark Fork on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the 2A District 1 tournament.
