MILESTONE BIRTHDAY

Barb Kobs

100th Birthday

We are excited to celebrate Barb Kobs who will be turning 100 years old Feb. 6!

She is a longtime Coeur d’Alene resident. All four of her children were born here in Coeur d'Alene: Pam Flynn, Wade (Bud) Kobs, Cindy Huret and Buff Kobs.

She was a schoolteacher; teaching first grade at Frederick Post and at Ponderosa Elementary School. She has always been proud of the fact that by the end of each school year, her students were able to read and complete simple math! Three of her granddaughters ended up being schoolteachers as well. What a gift our teachers are.

Barb lived in southern Idaho during her youth, moving north to Coeur d’Alene in 1944. She has enjoyed a very full life and active lifestyle here in North Idaho. She loved to hike, backpack, camp, golf at Coeur d’Alene Public Golf Club (into her 80s), and spend time in our beautiful lakes and rivers swimming and fishing for trout. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and visiting casinos, sharing all these pastimes with her best friend and sweetheart Bill Brunelle. She has passed on her love of the outdoors to her kids and grandkids, and we all share them with her great-grandkids. She still lives in her home of 56 years in the Fort Grounds.

Her family would like to wish her a very happy birthday and congratulations on becoming our favorite Centenarian!

FIVE GENERATIONS

Heberer Family

Weslee Ray's arrival on New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2025) completed a five-generation local family.

The senior member Ray (91) is a retired Air Force Officer, then David (62), Brian (42) and Ethan (22) all are proud parents. Kiah is Weslee's proud mother as are all the mothers involved.

Brian is the owner of Rocky Mountain Concrete while his son, Ethan, is the owner of Pacific Northwest Foundations.

All four fathers are extremely passionate fishermen so now the fish are trembling because here comes another Heberer!
