TOWN HALL: What is the meeting sponsor supposed to do?

| April 25, 2025 1:00 AM

When you attend a town hall meeting to listen to a speaker and attendees talk back and forth and someone attempts to disrupt the meeting what should the meeting sponsor do? Nothing? Let them rant? Terminate the meeting? Not in my opinion. The meeting sponsor should ask the person to be quiet. If the disrupter continues, then ask them to leave. If they refuse, then physically remove them. If they resist physical removal, then use whatever force is necessary to remove them. Where do people think they get a constitutional right to prevent other people from hearing what the meeting sponsor has to say? We don’t.
