Coeur d'Alene local wins 2025 Art on the Green 2025 Poster Contest

Coeur d'Alene-born-and-raised artist Isabella Henkle is the winner of the 2025 Art on the Green Poster Contest.

Henkle, 21, is studying psychology at Colorado Christian University in Denver. Growing up, she spent countless days on Lake Coeur d'Alene and Tubbs Hill. She loves to paint and draw her favorite little pieces of home as a way of staying connected while she is away at school.

Henkle said she loves North Idaho, with its mountains, lakes and sunsets. The more time she spends away, the more she appreciates its unique beauty.

Her inspiration for the poster came from a familiar and well-loved North Idaho location.

"The little trail along the lake is the home of countless sweet memories for me and so many of my family and friends," Henkle said. "This poster was meant to capture the simplistic beauty and joy of the spot, and hopefully to embody the simplistic beauty of this town as a whole. It is a special place, and I am so thankful my poster gets the chance to represent it at this year’s Art on the Green.”

Now in its 57th year, Art on the Green is a nonprofit organization run by dedicated volunteers. The annual festival is a celebration of the arts and the artists who create them. This year's Art on the Green dates are Aug. 1-3 at North Idaho College, 1000 W. Garden Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
