James Carneiro, 76

James A. Carneiro passed away peacefully March 30, 2025, in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was surrounded by his wife, Judy, and son Shawn. 

Jim was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to parents Tony and Della Carneiro on Sept. 8, 1948. After completing high school, he and Judy married and moved to Newport Beach, Calif. Jim received training to become a registered surveyor. He had a natural talent for building and throughout his long career built many fine homes in Newport Beach, Dana Point, Rancho Mirage, as well as his home turf of Lake Coeur d'Alene and Hayden Lake. Jim was a gifted athlete, excelling in tennis, skiing, golf and high school football. Also among his many abilities was his skill in painting, and he owned an art gallery in Rancho Mirage for several years. Jim was exceedingly generous throughout his life and always invited friends and family to stay with him and Judy wherever he was. He and Judy owned a 52-foot yacht, which they moored on Vancouver Island. He loved fishing for salmon, shrimp and crab. Jim was a past member of Thunderbird Country Club. He lived a great, productive life. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy, son Shawn and older brothers Ted and Ken. His younger brother, Rocky, is deceased.
