Kids get behind the controls at Dozer Day event

| April 24, 2025 1:00 AM

POST FALLS — Kids can take a turn in the operator’s seat during the family-friendly construction event, Dozer Day.

The sixth annual Dozer Day returns from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 3 and 4 at Cabela’s 101 N. Cabela Way, Post Falls.

Kids will be guided by professionals to operate real construction equipment like dozers, excavators, backhoes and more.

Dozer Day sparks children's interest in the construction industry through play.

Industry professionals hope to inspire youngsters to become skilled tradespeople and community leaders through interactive exhibits, hands-on experiences and engaging activities.

Event highlights include a zipline from Trench Safety Equipment, the chance to operate over 40 pieces of equipment, a tire crawl, a SWAT vehicle tour with Post Falls Police, fire trucks on display, a hard hat scavenger hunt, food trucks, giveaways and more.

Since 2019, Dozer Day has hosted more than 25,000 attendees.

More than $100,000 in funds raised by the event have been donated to local nonprofits and school programs.

Some recipients of the funds include Canopy Village, Post Falls High School and Mead High School cheer teams, Post Falls High School football, Rogers High School football and track, and Communities in Schools.

Tickets that are purchased prior to the event cost $12, and kids under 2 years old get in for free.

Tickets are available at ewni.dozerday.org.
