SHERIFF: Accountable for his actions

| April 23, 2025 1:00 AM

At the recent Town Hall event, Mr. Norris, who was not wearing his identifiable sheriff’s uniform, was dressed in unidentifiable tactical gear like the other security, not wearing any form of identification, and cannot be acting in his capacity as sheriff. Therefore, he cannot “DEPUTIZE” anybody.

At this event, Mr. Norris was a private citizen. To be acting in his professional capacity, he must be identifiable as the sheriff. Because Mr. Norris was acting as a private citizen that day, he is subject to the Laws and Codes of the City of Coeur d’Alene. He should be accountable for his actions, as a private citizen, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
