PREP ROUNDUP: Thomas drives in five for St. Maries
• SOFTBALL
PRIEST RIVER — Senior Madie Thomas went 3 for 3, drove in five runs and scored four times as the St. Maries Lumberjacks beat the Priest River Spartans 22-3 in Central Idaho League play Monday.
Thomas hit two-run doubles in the third and fourth innings for St. Maries (9-7, 5-2 CIL).
Brenna Elliott drove in four runs, two on a single in a 10-run third inning. Averie Baird went 3 for 6 with three RBIs and three runs scored for the Lumberjacks.
Addyson Stewart struck out 10, walked one and scattered three hits in four innings for St. Maries.
St. Maries is scheduled to play host to Kellogg today in a 3 p.m. doubleheader, its first games at the new on-campus diamond, PotlatchDeltic Field.
Priest River is 2-11, 2-10.

Grant Johnson and Caitlin Coombs also won twice in singles for Coeur d'Alene, as did Max James/Lucas Reeves, Cooper Irwin/Payson Irwin and Libby Morrisroe/Ava Jaeger in doubles.
