National Day of Prayer on May 1

The National Day of Prayer by the Kootenai County Ministerial Association is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. May 1 at McEuen Park Veterans Memorial Plaza.

This year’s theme is “Pour Out to the God of Hope and be Filled.”

It includes music, scripture readings and prayers from local pastors. Each will pray for different areas, including branches of government, elected leaders, law enforcement and the salvation of souls.

A few hundred people attended last year, and another large crowd is expected this year.

"We expect this event to be an occasion of great rejoicing," wrote Paul Van Noy, pastor of Candlelight Christian Fellowship.
