LEGISLATURE: They keep telling us what to do
Did our legislators do a good job? Example: The library bill is vague which allows multiple interpretations. It is meant to remove books deemed “harmful to minors.” Who makes that decision? Anyone from the community deems a book as harmful. The staff reviews the book within 60 days and place it in the adult section if it is deemed harmful. Parents are subjected to the rules of the library/community/government. Will the Bible end up in the adult section? After all, Abraham, David, Jacob and Solomon had multiple wives. Interpretation — the Bible is in favor of polygamy; an extreme thought, but it could be interpreted as such.
The governor wants to prevent people on SNAP from buying soda and candy. The definition of what candy/soda is very broad. People are being told what they can/cannot eat; that it is patriotic to be healthy. If you are not on SNAP, you can eat/drink whatever you want, so we are creating groups based on types of food. Now, we have the government telling us what we can/cannot eat.
If you are a woman in Idaho, you must go to another state to obtain certain medical treatments. This means, a group of the population is being told what they can/cannot do to their body. After all, schools allow exemptions to having your child vaccinated. I remember polio and measles epidemics. Before the vaccine was available, I saw a family member being severely impacted from measles.
