Robert Earl Stam, 91
May 10, 1933 — March 23, 2025
Our father, grandfather and friend went to be with his Heavenly Father with open arms, surrounded by family and friends.
Earl was born to Earl Hobart Stam and Orbie (Johnston) Stam on May 10, 1933, in Wenatchee, Wash. He lived most of his working life in the Pacific Northwest. He grew up in Port Angeles and Vaughn, Wash., attending Peninsula Schools before joining the Army in 1953. He had several jobs driving heavy equipment trucks and working at the Bremerton shipyards. After that, he went into the Army Reserves.
He married Lelah Howe of Sequim, Wash., in 1954. They had a son, Robert Jr., and a daughter, Victoria. They divorced in 1969, and he married Patricia Renecker and owned a Beauty Salon Called Earl’s House of Beauty in Port Angeles, Wash.
Earl and Patti had a son, Todd Robert, in 1970. They later moved to Oregon, where they stayed for four years before moving to Sandpoint, Idaho. He continued to build houses and then bought a beauty school in the Walla Walla area, where they settled before moving to Spokane and finally settling in Coeur d’Alene. He bought The Montana Building in Great Falls, Mont., which he and Todd renovated. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Post Falls.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Deloris, Doreen and Shirley, his first wife, Lelah Stam, and his second wife, Patricia Stam. Surviving are his three children: Robert Stam Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., Victoria Stam-Turner and husband Tim Turner of Hayden, Todd Robert Stam and wife Zetta of Coeur d'Alene, six grandchildren: Tori Myers (Beau) Mesa, Ariz., Noah Stam, (Emily), Aspen Matheson (Sam) Landyn Stam, Cambrie Stam and Jobe Stam all of Coeur d’Alene. Four great-grandchildren, Coleston, Wylder, McKinley and Scotty, and many nieces and nephews in the Pacific Northwest.
Our family would like to thank Comfort Keepers, Life Care Center, Wellspring Meadows and The Schneidmiller House for the wonderful help they provided him.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
