Serena Cogburn, 54

| April 18, 2025 1:00 AM

Serena Marie Cogburn was born May 6, 1970, in Silverton, Idaho, and passed away March 31, 2025, at the age of 54 after a courageous battle with bone cancer. She lived a life filled with love, strength and a deep sense of adventure.

Serena made her home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she was lovingly cared for by her sons — Clinton Wayne Doney and his fiancée, Ashley Smith, Aaron Vern Doney and Wade Allen Jr. Doney. She was a devoted mother to four sons: Clinton (37), Aaron (36), Wade (34) and Dakota Jeremy Richardson (29), all of whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.

She found joy and peace in nature, especially along the Oregon Coast, in quiet hot springs and in the mountains. One of her greatest adventures was visiting Glacier National Park, a longtime dream she fulfilled with gratitude and tears of joy.

Serena’s faith in God guided her life. She was honest about her struggles and celebrated the grace and redemption she found through her walk with the Lord. Her warmth, openness and faith left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Though she is no longer with us, Serena’s spirit lives on in every sunrise, every mountain view and every moment of peace. She is now home — free, whole and held in the arms of her Savior.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 19, at 3 p.m., at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

This is not goodbye, but “see you later.” In her memory, take time to reflect on the good, and find beauty in the world around you — just as Serena always did.
