PROTEST: Being idle is not an option
I was proud to be part of the protest on April 5. I was heartened to be among so many likeminded people. I think many of us at the protest here, and those held across the county, were astounded by the number of people discontent with our present Administration. Those of us who talked with each other did not compare red and blue politics, we talked about right vs. wrong issues.
Meanwhile, as we talked and held our signs, there were people who felt it necessary to oppose our viewpoints by calling us obscene names, racing by, blowing black smoke, and even threatening us with a deadly weapon. I witnessed at least two cars veer off the road into peaceful protesters. I did not see any injuries as the protesters were able to jump out of the way. Who threatens and bullies that way? OH, I KNOW. Those are the people who model their behavior after Donald Trump, the master of denigration and bullying. Think Jan. 6. Being idle in the face of such disregard for decency is not an option.
