PREP SOFTBALL: Dan socks three homers as Post Falls sweeps

MOSCOW — Senior Summer Dan hit three home runs and drove in seven runs as the Post Falls Trojans swept the Moscow Bears 10-8 and 13-3 in Inland Empire League softball Thursday at the Moscow School District Community Playfields. 

Dan hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning of the first game for Post Falls (4-8, 3-7 IEL), which led 10-4 before Moscow (4-12, 1-9) threatened with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. 

In the second game, Dan hit a three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the fourth. Dan drove in five runs in the second game. 

Rylan Morrison went 6 for 9 on the day for Post Falls, and struck out seven in five innings in the second game. McKenna Zimmerman was 5 for 7 in the two games, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning of the nightcap. 

Post Falls travels to Lakeland on Tuesday for an IEL doubleheader.

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Averie Baird had four hits and drove in six runs as the Lumberjacks swept the Timberwolf junior varsity at Ramsey Park. 

Addilyn Turner drove in four runs in the first game for St. Maries (8-7). Addyson Stewart and Mia Asbury each knocked in three runs in the second game for the Lumberjacks. 

Emily Huston went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in the first game for the Lake City JV. 

St. Maries travels to Priest River on Monday for a Central Idaho League game.
