ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Lippert

| April 18, 2025 1:00 AM

The 1st Amendment is first for a reason. “The Congress shall make NO law…. abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” Our intellectual freedom is CONSTITUTIONALLY GUARANTEED without restriction.

Thank goodness Michelle Lippert is running for the CLN Library Board. Michelle believes in the 1st Amendment. Anyone other than individual citizens or parents making access choices are infringing on our 1st Amendment rights.

Thank goodness Michelle Lippert is running for the CLN Library Board. Michelle understands how public boards work, the responsibility board members have to the community and will follow the rules expected of public boards. The majority CLN Board operates like the dysfunctional NIC board that nearly cost us accreditation. Just like at NIC, the CLN board members voted to over spend on legal services hiring the same under-qualified, overpriced Boyles Law hired by NIC. Their insurance plan provides less coverage costing tens of thousands of dollars more. The cuts in library services that resulted are intentional and self inflicted. The NIC crew did millions of dollars in damage and put accreditation in jeopardy, let’s not repeat this catastrophe in our libraries.

Thank goodness Michelle Lippert sees the value of library staff, hours and services. Michelle knows that families rely on the reference materials, computers and activities our libraries provide. In addition, our libraries provide skilled staff so any library user can complete or even excel at school assignments, skill training or applying for a job.

On May 20, Save our libraries, vote for Michelle Lippert for the CLN Board.
