Art demos Saturday at Art Spirit Gallery

| April 18, 2025 1:00 AM

The Art Spirit Gallery will present two artist demonstrations Saturday as renowned portrait and figurative painter Meidi Karampour sketches a live model from noon to 2 p.m. followed by mixed-media artist Andrew Parker, blending his passions for architecture and art into multifaceted works from 3 to 5 p.m.

Art enthusiasts, aspiring artists and members of the public alike are welcome to enjoy this free event and take away fresh insight, techniques and inspiration.

Karampour will create a portrait study from life, an early step in his commissioned work. Known for capturing the spirit and character of his subjects with an impressionistic use of light, Karampour translates their stories into visual form. His works are held in private collections across the U.S., from Massachusetts and Pennsylvania to Tennessee and Oregon, and have been exhibited at venues like the Springfield Art Museum and the Union League of Philadelphia.

Parker will follow with a session that engages the audience with his inspiration and creative process, blending his extensive history in architecture with art. Attendees will have chances to ask questions, learn new skills and gain a deeper appreciation for the versatility of mixed media. Parker will have a number of his sketchbooks on hand for folks to see how his inspiration begins, is developed, then brought to life.

Light refreshments will be served.
