CHATTAROY, Wash. — Freshman Dane Perkl hit a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning, finishing with four RBIs and two runs scored for the Timberlake Tigers in a 19-6 win over the Riverside Rams in a nonleague game at Riverside High.

“He’s been coming on lately and is rock solid,” Timberlake coach Bryce Johnson said. “He’s been hitting in the two hole and is mature beyond his years. We’ve got a lot of confidence in him and he’s really started to blossom. He’s swinging the bat really well and we couldn’t be more pleased with him.”

Senior Eric Wylie went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and sophomore Ryker Brennan and junior Tanner Van Tassel scored three runs each for Timberlake (9-2).

“We’ve put a huge point on trying to get one run an inning,” Johnson said. “We didn’t want to get a big inning, then a bunch of zeros. Today, everyone had a hit and RBI and we’ve been doing a good job of cashing in and putting the ball in play lately.”

Riverside is 2-5.

Timberlake hosts Bonners Ferry in an Intermountain League game on Friday.
