Man charged with drug trafficking after Coeur d’Alene traffic stop
COEUR d’ALENE — After a traffic stop, police arrested two people who allegedly possessed more than 100 grams of methamphetamine.
Derrick S. Miller, 38, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kassey M. Trump, 24, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Kootenai County sheriff’s deputy pulled Trump over near Northwest Boulevard and Lakewood Drive on Tuesday for an alleged traffic violation, according to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office. Trump was the driver, police said, and Miller was the passenger.
Police said a K-9 “alerted to the presence of narcotics,” prompting a search that reportedly yielded drug paraphernalia and approximately 111 grams of methamphetamine.
Miller allegedly told police he had recently purchased meth in Spokane. He and Trump were both arrested at the scene.
