Steven Lee Prosch, 56

| April 13, 2025 1:00 AM

Steven Lee Prosch, 56, passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Savior on March 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on July 10, 1968, to John and Shirley Prosch, Steve was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, Grampy and friend. His tender heart, kindness and patience touched the lives of all who knew him.

Steve loved solving problems and worked as a technician at Honda for approximately 24 years. During this time, he also served the community of Post Falls as a volunteer Reserve Officer for five years. Steve later worked for BAT Machine for 11 years until his health prevented him from continuing. His dedication, integrity and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he helped.

Outside of providing for his family, Steve loved spending time outdoors, his favorite places being Simmons Peak and Fernan Saddle. He had a love of hunting, fishing and regular camping trips with family. Above all his interests, he most cherished time spent with family and friends, sharing his contagious laughter, warm hugs and unwavering willingness to help others.

Steve and his family attended Grace Bible Church. Steve and Kate taught Sunday School and were Teen Bible Study leaders for eight years. There, they touched the lives of many young people and left a legacy of faith and friendship.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Kate Prosch, whom he met when he was 10 and she was 9; their four children, Jeremy (Sarah), Larissa (Jordan), Emily (Matthew) and Kaylee (Harvey), as well as their 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, John Prosch; his sister, Carol (Robert); and many cherished extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley Prosch.

Steve will be remembered for his tender heart, patience and love for all those around him. To know him was to love him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, 152 W. Prairie Ave. A reception will follow.
