Charles Scarcello, 87

Charles "Charlie" Scarcello, born Feb. 3, 1938, in Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away peacefully March 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and community service. He was the eighth of 10 children born to Joe and Ruby Scarcello and grew up on a farm in Rathdrum.

After graduating from Rathdrum High School in 1956, Charlie served in the Army in Alaska, later earning a degree in accounting from the University of Idaho. He moved to San Francisco, where he established a successful career in finance. He ultimately founded Wellington Securities in 1985, which provided financial advisory services throughout California.

Charlie was an active member of his community, dedicating over 35 years to the San Francisco Kiwanis Club as both a board member and president, and contributing to numerous charitable efforts. He also enjoyed being involved in the American Decorative Arts Forum.

In his personal life, Charlie was passionate about restoring his classic Edwardian home and delighted in traveling the world with his family. He loved dining out and was known for his joyful spirit, his laugh and his ability to bring people together. Charlie was magnetic, warmly inclusive and adored by all who knew him.

He is survived by Roberta, his beloved wife of 44 years, his son, Chuck (April), grandchildren Trey and Samantha, numerous nieces and nephews and siblings Leona and brothers Frank and Dennis.

Charlie Scarcello will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but for his generosity, warmth and the joy he brought to others’ lives. He will be sorely missed.
