NIC BASKETBALL: Weems, Galindo named NJCAA All-Americans

North Idaho College sophomore men’s basketball player Vaughn Weems and freshman women's basketball player Esmeralda Galindo were named to the NJCAA All-American second team on Wednesday.

Weems, a 6-foot-7 guard, finished second in the NJCAA in scoring at 26.7 points per game for the Cardinals, who finished 18-13 this season. Weems, from Federal Way, Wash., also had 8.1 rebounds per game for NIC. 

Galindo, a 5-8 guard from Davis High in Yakima, Wash., led the conference with 18.5 points per game for the Cardinals, who finished 17-13.
