Pottery competition April 11 at Emerge
Emerge will host its fifth annual Ceramic Throwdown and Cup Frenzy from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Pottery activities will be held throughout the evening. The highlight of the night will be the Throwdown Challenge, a friendly pottery-throwing competition. Challenges will include throwing blindfolded as well as testing who can throw the widest plate and the tallest cylinder.
Proceeds from the Cup Frenzy cup sale will benefit the arts nonprofit's pottery studio. Participating potters will donate up to 10 cups for the sale. Cups will be available for $15, with drinks included. Funds collected each year are used to buy new supplies and materials.
The Throwdown and Cup Frenzy is a free event. Those who would like first access to purchase cups early can go to emergecda.com for VIP tickets, which will also get ticketholders in the door at 4 p.m. Only 50 of these tickets will be sold.
Emerge is at 119 N. Second St., Coeur d'Alene.
