Egg hunts, other spring fun to be found around North Idaho
Colorful eggs abound as Post Falls city staff prepare for a Q’emiln Park egg extravaganza.
The Easter egg hunt will be from 1 to 2 p.m. April 19 at 12201 W. Parkway Drive, Post Falls.
Jason Wiley, recreation supervisor, said that staff members have spent weeks working to meet their goal of stuffing 20,000 Easter eggs.
“It’s daunting at times, but it keeps us going and it just goes fast with a lot of help,” Wiley said.
The egg hunt is free for all participants. Age groups will be coordinated into different sections of Q’emiln Park.
Activities will be staggered to ensure everyone can join in on the festivities.
A limited mobility egg hunt will be held inside the Lions Grand Pavilion. The area is fully accessible with a level concrete surface and open to families with mobility difficulties.
The Easter Bunny will be in attendance to take photos with children. Family members of all ages will have opportunities to win prizes.
Participants are asked to bring their own baskets to collect eggs. The event will take place rain or shine.
Those who would like to volunteer to help with the egg hunt can call Wiley at 208-773-0539.
But wait, there's more
Just as the crocus emerges from the earth when spring approaches, so too do the Easter egg hunts begin to spring forth.
And while cheap eggs may be in high demand and hard to find, North Idaho has no shortage of egg-citing Easter activities.
