Former Meridian big man Rowbury transfers to Idaho

MOSCOW — Brody Rowbury, who played the last three seasons at Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, La., has signed with the Idaho men's basketball team, Vandals head coach Alex Pribble announced.

"We're very excited to welcome Brody to the Vandal family. His combination of size, skill, and experience will make an immediate impact on our program," Pribble said.

The 6-foot-11 Rowbury was a senior at Meridian High when the Warriors defeated Lake City 68-54 in the 2021 state 5A championship game. Rowbury scored 13 points. Former Lake City star Kolton Mitchell, who just completed his redshirt freshman season at Idaho, played in that title game as a sophomore for the Timberwolves, leading his team with 15 points.

At Southeastern Louisiana, Rowbury started 82 games for the Lions, averaging between 8.6 and 9.2 points throughout his career.

"I am very excited about being a Vandal," Rowbury said. "My intention when entering the transfer portal was to get closer to home, and when coach Pribble called, I knew Idaho would be a great spot for me. It's a great feeling to be able to come back home for the last year of my college career."

Rowbury joins Idaho with one season of eligibility remaining.

"Brody was one of the most efficient players in the Southland Conference last year," Pribble said. "He has a terrific skill set and basketball IQ, and we can't wait to get him to Moscow."
