ALL-IDAHO BOYS, GIRLS BASKETBALL: Vikings’ Colvin named 6A girls Player of the Year
Sophomore guard Brookeslee Colvin of Coeur d’Alene was named 6A girls Player of the Year as the all-Idaho high school basketball teams were announced this week by The Idaho Statesman of Boise.
Colvin averaged 22.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 4.1 steals and 2.1 blocked shots for the Vikings, who reached the state semifinals after winning back-to-back state titles.
Senior point guard Reese Strawn of Lake City was named to the 6A boys first team.
Strawn, a second-team pick last year, averaged 16.2 points for game for the state runner-up Timberwolves. He made 90 3-pointers, shot 42% from deep, and averaged 6.1 assists per game.
Junior point guard Caden Symons of Coeur d’Alene and sophomore forward Jordan Carlson of Lake City were named to the 6A boys second team.
Symons averaged 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Carlson averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots.
Sophomore guard Brecken Mire of Sandpoint was named to the 5A girls second team. Mire averaged 15.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Bulldogs.
Junior guard Royce Fisher of Lewiston was named to the 5A boys second team. Fisher averaged 17.8 points, 3.7 assists, and shot 41% from 3-point range.
Senior guard Asher Williams of Bonners Ferry was named Player of the Year for the third straight year, this time in the 4A boys classification. Williams, a Montana Tech commit, averaged 28.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals for the Badgers, who won their second straight state title.
Bonners Ferry senior wing Thomas Bateman was also named to the 4A boys first team. Bateman averaged 15.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Nathan Williams of Bonners Ferry was named 4A boys Coach of the Year.
Senior Brody Rice of Bonners Ferry was named to the 4A boys second team. Rice averaged 8.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists.
Junior guard Malia Miller of Timberlake was named to the 4A girls first team. Miller averaged 16.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.6 steals for the Tigers, who placed third at state.
Lakeside junior guard Tyson Charley was named to the 2A boys first team, the second straight year he was a first-team all-Idaho selection. Charley averaged 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists. 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks, and shot 55% from the field for the Knights, who reached the state semifinals.
Junior guard Hallah Peone of Lakeside was named to the 2A boys second team. Peone averaged 20.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists.
Junior guard Kyleigh Wolfe of Lakeside was named to the 2A girls first team. Wolfe averaged 22.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 5.7 steals for the Knights.
Senior guard Chris Moore of Kootenai was named to the 1A boys second team. Moore averaged 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.3 steals for the Warriors.
Senior center Madalyn Green of Grangeville was named to the 3A girls second team. Green averaged 12.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Bulldogs.
Coaches statewide vote on the all-Idaho teams. The Statesman publishes the results.
