NIC ROUNDUP: Cardinal women's golf competes in Arizona

MARICOPA, Ariz. — North Idaho College freshman Katherine Woodhouse shot a two-round 176 to pace the Cardinals at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Wednesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. 

NIC shot a 365-365—730 in the tournament’s first two rounds. 

Iowa State leads the tournament with a 291-297—588. 

The tournament concludes today.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Charlie Stern, a freshman from Mead High in Spokane, hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning of the first game for the Cardinals, who were swept by the Bruins in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader at Norma Carr Field on Sunday. 

The doubleheader was pushed back due to rain on Saturday. 

Katelyn Larney also had an RBI single in the first game for NIC. 

Salt Lake (24-5, 11-5 SWAC) is ranked 16th in this week’s NJCAA poll. 

NIC (14-16, 6-10) hosts the College of Southern Idaho on Saturday and Sunday at Lake City High.
