NIC GOLF: Cardinals compete in Seattle U tourney
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — North Idaho College freshman Eli McNelly was the top local finisher with a three-round 221 in the Seattle Redhawk Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at Chambers Bay Golf Course.
McNelly, from Olympia, Wash., shot a 1-over 73 in the first and third round to finish 36th for the Cardinals. Matt Armstrong of St. Thomas (Minn) was the men’s medalist with a 69-71-66—206.
St. Thomas and UC Riverside tied for the team title with an 856.
NIC competes in the Bethany College Classic next Monday and Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas, the site of this year’s NJCAA Tournament May 13-16.
