Janet Louise Kleinsmith, 85

Janet Louise Kleinsmith, 85, of Post Falls, Idaho, beloved wife and mother, died Sept. 22, 2024, of natural causes. She is survived by her husband, Homer L. Kleinsmith; sons Mark E. Swisher of Walla Walla, Wash., Randall A. Swisher of Airway Heights, Wash., and Tony W. Beal of Dawson, Neb.; and numerous family members, including over 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet was born to Earl and Flora Fiegel on June 8, 1939, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A native of Coeur d'Alene, Janet graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School and later attended North Idaho College, where she received an associate’s degree in nursing. She was an assistant at Coeur d’Alene Nursing Home and later pursued a career in the U.S. Forest Service. She retired from the Coeur d’Alene Tree Nursery after 30 years of service. 

Janet was a people person and loved the outdoors. She loved and raised numerous children in the local community.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, Idaho, with a viewing at 10 a.m. A reception will follow the funeral before the graveside service at 2 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery, 1065 N. Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
