Coeur d’Alene High JV boys, girls teams shine in varsity race in Lewiston: Last Saturday, the Coeur d’Alene High junior varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed against varsity teams at the Les MacDowell Invitational at Lewiston Orchards. The JV boys and girls teams entered the varsity race while the varsity squad traveled to a meet in Irvine, Calif. Competing against 12 regional schools, the CHS JV boys team finished in first place with a team score of 44 points.

Leading the charge was Davey Dance, who finished fifth overall in 16 minutes, 31 seconds. Paxon Rasor was sixth in 16:43. Other Viking finishers were Dante Carr (10th, 17:09), Davis Tomczak (11th, 17:11), Ronan Kennedy (18th, 17:32), AJ Osler (20th, 17:40) and Emmett McLachlan (29th, 18:05).

The Coeur d'Alene JV girls finished second with a score of 85 points. Lana Fletcher led the Vikings, finishing 11th overall with a time of 20:53. She was followed by Chloe Frank (16th place, 21:32), Sara Siegler (23rd place, 22:29), Grace Callahan (28th place, 22:39), Gwyneth McCarter (35th place, 23:22), Mia Shull (45th place, 24:57) and Lauren Fehling (46th place, 24:58).
