With profound sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Patrick Duncan McRae, 72 years of age and a longtime resident of Post Falls, Idaho. He passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2024.

He was doing what he loved to do — he was on the golf course with his close friends, enjoying their company and sharing stories about his family and his wonderful birthday the week before.

Patrick was born July 15, 1952, in Phillipsburg, Mont., and moved to Spokane, Wash., as a young child. He went to school at Irving grade school and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1970. He enjoyed participating in sports and lettered in varsity wrestling. Patrick was a carpenter and loved to work with his hands and create beautiful, useful things for his family and loved ones. He worked in the Spokane and Post Falls area for many years and retired a few years ago. He loved his family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a good listener and loved to share a good story and have a good laugh. He always stood for what was right and he did everything to be sure his family was taken care of. Patrick lived in Post Falls, Idaho, with his wife, Diana, and their children.

He is survived by his wife and children. Diana McRae, Amanda McRae, Robert McRae, Jeanne McRae, Molly Carnahan and Ruth McRae. He has seven grandchildren. His sister, Beth Shurtlieff, and his brother, Michael McRae. He is preceded in death by his parents, Duncan McRae and Eleanor McRae, and his brother, Thomas McRae.

A celebration of his life will be held Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at 22808 N. Perry Road, Colbert, WA 98005. Please RSVP at mcraecelebrationoflife.rsvpify.com. Patrick will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
