Marsha Hicks, 85

Marsha Hicks was born in Aurora, Ill., on Aug. 24, 1939. She grew up in Edina, Ill., through her 11th year of high school. During her senior year in high school, her family moved to Burlingame, Calif., where she graduated from high school.

She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated in 1961 with a bachelor's in education. She taught second grade in Boulder, Colo., for two years and then moved back to Burlingame, Calif., where she taught kindergarten for one year.

Marsha lived in Burlingame, Calif., from 1963 to 1970 and then in the Denver, Colo., area from 1970 to 1980. She moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1980 and taught kindergarten from 1981 to 1993.

Marsha met Dan, and they were married in 1983. After 12 years of teaching, she and Dan retired to build their dream home in Indian Meadows off Atlas Road.

Marsha’s hobbies included flower gardening, dry flower arranging, reading, playing her piano at local retirement homes and traveling south in the winter.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Dan Hicks; her son, Chuck Lewis and wife Sue; daughter Lisa Migchelbrink and husband Paul; and their two sons, Austin and John; brother Ed Ham and sister Pat Howerton.
