Moscow

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Gracie Legg had 14 assists, senior Paisley Goings 12 assists and senior Lizzy Hardy 19 assists as the host Vikings rallied from four points down late in the third set to sweep the Bears 25-21, 25-19, 31-29 in Inland Empire League play at Viking Court.

"It was senior night, so we were battling emotions, and we did a good job battling through some emotional lows and highs in the match,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “Moscow did a good job adjusting to what we were throwing at them. Very, very exciting ending to the match for sure, but my girls did a good job believing in themselves.”

Moscow is 4-7, 1-5.

Coeur d’Alene plays host to Lake City on Wednesday.

Lake City d.

Sandpoint

COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomore Kate Moglia had 12 assists and four digs as the host Timberwolves beat the Bulldogs 25-10, 25-15, 25-14 in the resumption of an Inland Empire League match suspended last month due to an injury to a Lake City player.

Jessalyn Wilson added seven kills and five digs for Lake City (10-3, 4-2 IEL). Emmery Fuller had six kills, Taylor Winey nine assists and two aces.

“We stayed focused on our side of the net tonight and it made things a lot more fun,” Lake City coach Michelle Kleinberg said. “Before the game, we talked about going out and actually doing the things we say we’re going to do, and I feel like we really stuck to that. The whole team saw playing time tonight and we had Lexie (Burns, a freshman who was injured in the Aug. 23 match) on the bench with us, so things felt extremely cohesive and team-centered.”

Sandpoint is 2-11, 0-6.

Lake City plays at Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday.
