Innovia Foundation awards over $339K in scholarships

The Innovia Foundation recently awarded $339,888 through 128 scholarships to students throughout North Idaho and eastern Washington for the 2024-2025 school year.

Innovia manages over 30 scholarship programs on behalf of donors who have established funds to help students achieve their higher education goals.  

“As a community foundation, Innovia is deeply committed to empowering the next generation through education,” Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation, said in a Sept. 13 news release. “It is a privilege to join our dedicated donors in supporting students as they embark on their journey toward higher education and career success.” 

Kootenai County Innovia scholarship recipients:

• Gabrielle Garasky, Coeur d'Alene — $3,000 Lucille I. Hudon Scholarship, University of Hawaii at Manoa

• George Lanigan, Coeur d'Alene — $1,000 Denny and Thelma Yasuhara Scholarship, University of Idaho

• Maren Hover, Coeur d'Alene — $3,000 Lucille I. Hudon Scholarship, University of Arizona

• Matthew Moler, Post Falls — $3,000 Lucille I. Hudon Scholarship and $3,000 Mark and Kay Burkett Scholarship, University of Idaho

• Regina Wright, Rathdrum — $3,000 Mark and Kay Burkett Scholarship, Lewis-Clark State College

• Sarah Smith, Rathdrum — $1,250 Spokane Area Swimming Memorial Scholarship, Boise State University

• Sofia Smirnova, Post Falls — $2,000 Lucille I. Hudon Scholarship and $4,000 Stoll Scholarship, Lewis-Clark State College

The nonprofit Innovia Foundation works to ignite generosity that transforms lives and communities so every person has the opportunity to thrive. It partners with like-minded people to address and solve the Inland Northwest's problems, help those in need, identify and respond to opportunities and leave a lasting impact.

Each year, the Innovia Foundation invests nearly $10 million into local communities through grants and scholarships.
