PREP VOLLEYBALL: Cd'A sweeps Lake City

COEUR d’ALENE — Junior Gianna Callari totaled 12 kills, three blocks and two aces as the visiting Coeur d’Alene Vikings, still a bit shorthanded, swept the Lake City Timberwolves 25-22, 25-18, 25-13 in Inland Empire League play Thursday night at Lake City. 

Paisley Goings added seven kills and 10 digs for Coeur d’Alene (13-3, 4-0 IEL). Gracie Legg had 18 digs and two aces, Hannah Shafer 13 assists, Lizzy Hardy 12 assists, Bridget Maiani 11 digs and Jovie Le, up from the junior varsity, two blocks. 

“Our team showed some incredible heart and determination,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “They pushed through every challenge; their focus and drive was pretty spot on. We have yet to have a match where I’ve had every member of my team available.” 

For Lake City (9-3, 3-2), Jessalyn Wilson had eight kills and six digs, Josie Hocking six kills, Kate Moglia 11 assists, Taylor Winey nine assists. 

“Wasn’t our night this time and man, Coeur d’Alene played fantastic,” Lake City coach Michelle Kleinberg said. “ They kept us from getting our offense firing and outlasted us in those tighter sets early on. We get a chance to punch back next week (Wednesday at Coeur d’Alene) so it’s up to us to dig in and be ready.” 

“We were very scrappy tonight,” Curtis said. “They (the T-Wolves) dug some pretty powerful hits, and we did a good job remaining calm and playing steady.” 

Coeur d’Alene is home Monday vs. Moscow in an IEL match. 

Also on Monday, Lake City resumes an IEL match with Sandpoint which was halted in the first set on Aug. 23 due to an injury to a Timberwolf player. 


Lakeland d. 

Sandpoint 

RATHDRUM — Junior Alyssa Ryckman totaled 10 kills and three aces as the host Hawks cruised past the Bulldogs 25-11, 25-13, 25-22 in IEL play at Hawk Court. 

Olivia Zazuetta had 31 assists for Lakeland (9-3, 4-1 IEL). Lexi Levesque had eight kills, Addy Jo Hocking 20 digs, Raygen Dutton three blocks. 

A good win for us tonight,” Lakeland coach Kelsie Badger said. “Alyssa led the charge with her aggressive attacks, finding gaps in Sandpoint's defense. Lexi supported with strong hits from the right side, maintaining pressure on throughout the game. Raygen played a crucial role, executing well-timed hits and making key plays when it mattered most. 

“Addy Jo was a standout on defense. Her quick reactions and pinpoint passing kept the team in rhythm, making it easier for Liv to connect with the hitters.” 

Sandpoint is 0-11, 0-5. 

Lakeland travels to Post Falls on Tuesday for an IEL match. 


Timberlake d. 

Riverside 

SPIRIT LAKE — Freshman Addie Archer totaled 10 kills, nine digs and seven aces as the Tigers swept the visiting Rams of Chattaroy, Wash., 26-24, 25-9, 25-10 in nonleague play.  

Amarijana Olivieri had six kills and six aces for Timberlake (7-6), Kaydence Edwards had 26 assists, Isabelle Torr 11 digs, Madison Miller six kills, Rilynn Kaiser four aces. 

Riverside is 0-5. 

Timberlake travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday. 


Grangeville d. 

St. Maries 

ST. MARIES — The visiting Bulldogs swept the Lumberjacks 25-23, 25-9, 25-21 in Central Idaho League play. 

Mia Asbury had six kills, seven assists and 11 digs for St. Maries (5-10, 0-4 CIL). Raevyn Yearout added four kills and 10 digs, Brenna Elliott 12 assists and 10 digs, Naomi Mueller three aces and two blocks, Allie Zook 16 digs. 

Grangeville is 2-3, 1-1.  

St. Maries plays hosts to Kellogg on Tuesday for a CIL match. 


Kellogg d. 

Wallace  

KELLOGG — Dani Hendrikson had 13 kills and three blocks for the Wildcats in a 25-11, 25-13, 25-13 win over the Miners at Andrews Gymnasium. 

“We were running a pretty quick offense, so our setters were able to get the ball to our hitters in good spots tonight,” Kellogg coach Stephanie Batchelder said. 

Ella Yrjana had 12 assists and six aces, Paige Yrjana 11 digs for Kellogg (10-2), which travels to St. Maries on Tuesday. 

Wallace (4-3) faces Genesis Prep on Tuesday at The Courts in Post Falls. 


Lakeside d. 

Clark Fork 

CLARK FORK — The Knights rallied with a reverse sweep to down the Wampus Cats 23-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-23, 15-11 in a Scenic Idaho Conference match at Clark Fork High. 

Lakeside (5-1, 3-1 SIC) faces Coeur du Christ on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic School. 

Hannah Thompson had 10 digs for Clark Fork (2-7, 1-4), which hosts Timberlake on Tuesday.

Kootenai 

HARRISON FLATS — The visiting Saints, in their first year as a full member of the Idaho High School Activities Association, clinched their first league title in school history, sweeping the Warriors 25-8, 25-20, 25-10 in North Star League play. 

Kate Clemens had 11 assists for Coeur du Christ (5-3, 3-0 NSL). Lucy Ross added seven aces, Madeline Junkin five kills. 

Kootenai (2-5, 1-2) plays host to Mullan on Tuesday. 

Coeur du Christ is home vs. Lakeside on Tuesday.
