Mayor's Awards in the Arts winners announced

The city of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission on Thursday announced the winners of the 28th Annual Mayor’s Awards in the Arts. They are:

Patron of the Arts — ignite cda

Excellence in the Arts — Lorna Hamilton

Arts in Education — Roger Dunsmore

Support of the Arts — Greg & Phebe Washington

Student Excellence in the Arts — Mariel Palmer-Kamprath

The annual Mayor's Awards in the Arts is scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Hagadone Event Center. Stephen Shortridge will be the emcee.

Jennifer Passaro will be inducted as the city's inaugural Poet Laureate. Sculptor Cheryl Metcalf will create art in real time and Emerge art students will display their art.
